What We Do and What We Stand For.

At Hilltop Skateboarding, we follow three guiding principles inspired by our founder, Dave "Evo" Evans:

  1. Serve God.

  2. Have fun.

  3. Be grateful and humble for all that you have.

We've transformed old squash courts into an indoor skate centre. Despite our limited space, we make the most of what we have. With a long-standing involvement in skateboarding at the highest levels, Dave has earned recognition as one of the best in his prime.

At Hilltop, we provide a safe environment for skaters of all levels and offer pathways to a future in the sport if that's what you and your kids aspire to. We prioritize skateboarding and develop long-term friendships with our students. While we need business to survive, we're not driven by money.

Dave founded Skate Schools Australia long before any current skate schools existed, stepping away for personal reasons. He continues to offer a 100% money-back guarantee on his coaching services - if you don't see improvement in one hour, he doesn't want your money. We believe in result-driven coaching and support all skate schools but want parents to recognize that some services claiming to be skate schools are more like babysitting services.

For those who ask whether skateboarding is a sport or a hobby, we say it's neither- to us, it's an art. "The skateboard is your brush, and wherever you ride is your canvas. The picture you paint is up to you." While we don't claim to be the best or to know it all, we stand by our high standards in teaching our students.

What You Can Expect to Learn

We offer a variety of lessons, including term-by-term skate lessons, private lessons, school holiday lessons, and special events like birthday parties and private functions. Our focus is on safety first, followed by the basic fundamentals such as pushing, turning, dropping in, kick turns, grinds, and board slides.

Participants in our beginner school term receive a completion certificate at the end of the term, depending on their level of achievement. Our goal is to prepare you for the world of skateboarding, instilling confidence at any skate park, teaching you to understand the flow, assess and calculate risks, and most importantly, have fun developing your skills.
